DAY-1 Airport -History Museum of Armenia- Sightseeing Tour in Yerevan
Arrival at the Zvartnots International airport (or any other place) in Yerevan, greeting and transfer to the hotel. After the check-in and a little rest time, the introduction with Armenia begins with the National history museum, which is the perfect place to grasp what is special about Armenia. This is followed by a sightseeing city tour in Yerevan that allows you to visit most of city’s attractions and get acquainted with the downtown.
DAY-2 Yerevan- Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni – Tatev Monastery(Ropeway)- Goris
After the breakfast at the hotel, the tour in the southern Armenia begins with the first stop at the Khor Virap ancient monastery, which is also the closest point to the biblical Mount Ararat and offers a magnificent view. The trip continues towards Areni, where you can taste local wines traditional cuisine, while the cave with excavations of the oldest winery in the world in located nearby. Next is the masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture - the Noravank monastery, which is surrounded by picturesque red cliffs. From here the ride goes on, reaching the Guinness record-breaker ropeway wings of Tatev (longest in the world and 350m above the gorge) that takes you to Tatev monastery complex located high in the mountains. Then, you have a short drive to the nearby town of Goris and overnight.
DAY-3 Goris – Karahunj – Noratus –Sevan - Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a drive to the ancient observatory called Qarahunj (Armenian Stonehange). From here, the trip continues through the Selim Pass towards Noratus, the largest graveyard of khachkars. Next, you can taste local fish and famous crayfish kebabs by the Lake Sevan, which is the largest water body in the Caucasus. We return to Yerevan in the evening.
DAY-4 Yerevan-Garni- Geghard Monastery – Ararat brandy company Yerevan
After the breakfast at the hotel, we visit the 2000 years old Temple of Garni and Geghard monastery complex, which is an exemplary architectural monument carved into the rock. Both sights are located not far from Yerevan. This is followed by a lavash-making master class and opportunity to taste healthy local food. Later, in Yerevan, we have an excursion in the Ararat Brandy factory with tasting of two types of famous local brandy.
DAY-5 Yerevan- Dilijan –Haghartsin – Goshavank - Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel and a drive to the region of coniferous and mixed forests - to the town of Dilijan. Outing to medieval Haghartsin Monastery (11-13th century) and the Monastery of Goshavank. Here, you can enjoy the Armenian cultural heritage along with the amazing natural beauties.
DAY-6 Yerevan – Matenadaran –Amberd-Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. After, we have a visit to the Museum and Institute of Ancient Manuscripts "Matenadaran", which has one of the largest collections of ancient writings in the world. This is followed by a drive up on the highest mountain in Armenia – Aragats, where the Ambert fortress in located.
DAY-7 Yerevan – Etchmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan
The last day starts with a visit to the one of the oldest churches in the world and the religious center of all Armenians – St. Etchmidzin (4th c.) after the breakfast. We also attend the Etchmiadzin museum and drive to the ruins of Zvartnots, another UNESCO world heritage site.
DAY-8 Vernisagge- Airport
For the last day, we have a breakfast at the hotel and attend local open-air souvenir market Vernissagge, which is another must-see destinations for visitors of Yerevan. This is followed by the transfer to the airport and departure.
