The splendorous Caracol was the largest metropolis in the Maya lowlands of ancient time and is located deep within the Chiquibul Forest Reserve in the Maya Mountains. While travelling to this location, you will enjoy a stunning scenery of the flora and fauna that enhance the true beauty of this magnificent Maya City. Here, you will be given a life time experience as you trail along paths that was once threaded by nobles and peasants that lived in this mystic world. Caracol is the largest Maya archaeological site in Belize. Archeological discoveries has revealed that Caracol had an urban area approximately 10 kilometers in radius around the center of the city, in the year 650 AD. Caracol is a world in which the gods demanded ceremonies and rituals.
Departs San ignacio at 7:30Am with 2 1/2 drive to the Site Caracol. we wil be driving through the mountain Pine Ride. at the site we will have a guided tour of 3 hour of the main parts of Caracol. Tour guides will give you time to climb the different structures. we will be doing lunch at the parking lot and then we will be departing the site of Caracol. an hour drive will take us to the Mountain pine ridge where we will stop at Rio On Pools for a swim. we will be back to San Ignacio at around 5:00PM
