The Vatican Museums offer a unique collection of art masterpieces and this itinerary is focused on the most important areas of the museum: the Pigna Courtyard, the Ottagono Courtyard.
From here the route takes us to the gallery of the candelabras and to the tapestry gallery, then the geographical maps gallery. Then we visit one of the most important examples of renaissance art, the rooms that Raffaello painted for Julius II. From the apartments of Julius II, visitors pass to the apartments of the Pope Alexander VI Borgia, whose rooms still house the rich collection of contemporary art.
Finally we arrive to the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's masterpiece seen in the decoration of the ceiling and on the extraordinary depiction of the Last Judgement. The Basilica of St. Peter will be the last stop on our visit: one of the most ancient churches in the world. Today the church is a treasure trove of precious works of art such as the Pietà by Michelangelo and the St. Peter's Baldachin by Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
