The Mikumi National Park near Morogoro, Tanzania, was established in 1964. It covers an area of 3230 km² hence is the fifth largest in the country. The park is crossed by Tanzania's A-7 highway. Welcome - Karibu Camp Bastian Mikumi is set in unique and natural surroundings. We are offering comfortable accommodation and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Bastian Camp is located in the buffer zone of Mikumi Natiaonal Park about 10 km from main gate.
Day 1: Depart Dar Es Salaam morning to Mikumi National Park with picnic lunch en-route, on arrival afternoon game drive in Mikumi National Park. By the end of the afternoon you will reach your comfortable mobile camp featuring lovely views over the savannah. Overnight at Camp Bastian
Day 2: Full day game drive in Mikumi or two half day game drive o/n Bastian Camp Mikumi
Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and elephants. If you are lucky you may also be able to spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Likely to be seen animals include zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland and antelope. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety.
Day 3: Early morning game drive in Mikumi then breakfast, there after driving back to Dar es Salaam.
It takes about 5 hours drive from Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park. It's much better to leave early on the first day in order to have more time in the park.
