The village of Alquézar is located in the Comarca of Somontano (Province of Huesca-Aragón Region) at the end of the Vero River Canyon. Besides the magnificent landscape in the Guara Mountains the village is an Historical-artistic complex. The activity is completed with the visit and wine tasting in a winery belonging to the Somontano Wine Region.
Travel by private vehicle from Barcelona. A traditional organic olive oil factory will be the first stop. Then, we’ll arrive to the medieval age of Alquézar to enjoy a traditional countryside lunch. Walk through the charming streets of this ancient village ending up in an arab fortress which became a christian castle. Finally, learn how wine is produced visiting two wineries from Denominación de Origen Somontano (wines’ top qualification in Spain). Both visits include olive and wine tastings.
